S. Miguel, for its innumerable natural and cultural attributes, is increasingly an important Portuguese tourist destination. Distinctly natural, ecotourism is still one of the main types of tourism practiced on this island. On the S. Miguel plate, we can see highlighted either the relief or the illustration, in the following elements: Lagoa das 7 Cidades, Portadas da Cidade, Ermida de Nª Srª da Paz, Furnas and Farol do Arnel.
